TextMate 2.0.19 macOS
TextMate is a versatile plain text editor with a set of unique and innovative features that won it the Apple Design Award for Best Mac OS X Developer Tool in August 2006.
The fast growing community has created modes for over a hundred different "modes" including support for all major programming languages, writing prose in structured formats like LaTeX, Markdown, Textile, etc., blogging, running SQL queries, writing screen presentations, performing your budget, and much more.
Multiple caret signs
Making multiple changes simultaneously, swapping bits of code, and a whole lot more becomes a trivial thing with TextMate's easy way to add multiple entry points.
File search
Specify what you want to search for, and what you want to search for, and TextMate will present results in a way that makes it easy to navigate between matches, extract matching text, or preview desired alternatives.
Version control
Find out which files contain changes in the file browser view, what lines contain changes in the editor view, show a difference in current file changes, and stick to a subset, TextMate supports all of this for all major version control systems
Domain settings
One file mixes languages? Projects using different building systems? Third-party code with different formatting preferences? TextMate can handle all of that by linking detailed range selectors to shortcuts, master settings, etc.
orders
The UNIX foundations allow macOS to write custom procedures in any language that can work with stdin, stdout, and environment variables, and for complex interactions, TextMate displays both a WebKit and dialogue framework for Mac-based or HTML-based interfaces.
Excerpts
Commonly used text or code fragments can be converted into snippets with placeholders, transformations, and more, to make them adapt to the context in which they are used.
strap
TextMate uses packages for customization and supports countless different languages, coding schemes, workflows, and more.
Macros
Repetitive work can be eliminated by using macros. Either save it for frequent use or record a macro scratch for instant playback.
And more ...
Clipboard history, custom themes, live HTML / Markdown preview, collapsible code blocks, soft indented wrap, etc.
